Australian Challenge

In the first edition of the Australian challenge held in our installation on Sunday April 15th 2018, our Bluefins swimmers have done well by recording great performances.

Indeed, for our 39 present swimmers, a 63% improvement of best individual times was achieved.  More specifically, the performances of Ella Cloutier (11-12 girl category) and Laurent Bilodeau (8 and under boys category) were outstanding as they came in first position in the best cumulative time of the 4 stroke events.  Congratulations also to their coaches Marina and Christophe.  A particular mention to Justin Villemure who came second in the 9-10 boys category.

A big thank you to all Bluefins representatives as well as our volunteer parents who contributed to make this event a success.  See you next year!

Gabriel Martel at Nationals

Gabriel Martel at Nationals

Our Para-swimming representative at Bluefins, Gabriel Martel, had a great competition at the Quebec Seniors  and Para-Swimming Cup held in Gatineau from March 16th to March 18th. Since his early youth, Gabriel lives with a strong visual limitation. During this competition, Gabriel stood out by participating in 4 individual events in addition to participate in the grand final of the 100 freestyle, 200 IM and 100 breaststroke events. He obtained four national standards in para-swimming, which gives him the right to participate in the next National Championships to be held at the Montréal Olympic Pool, April 4-8.

Congratulations Gabriel for this accomplishment and we follow your progress towards excellence.
